Every Great Story Starts With a Twist
Step into the spotlight and create an original play from scratch! Over 7 weeks, students will use theatre games, improvisation, creative writing, and collaborative brainstorming to bring a one-of-a-kind story to life.
They'll create memorable characters, craft unexpected plot twists, write dialogue, and explore the magic of storytelling while building confidence, creativity, collaboration, and communication skills.
No acting or writing experience is needed. Just bring your imagination, creativity, and the courage to try something new.
The finale: On the last day, students will share their original play with family and friends!
7-WEEK ADVENTURE
A fun, hands-on 7-week program where students build an original play from scratch.
FUN FOR ALL STUDENTS
Starts with improv games and creative activities to get the ideas flowing then we get into story creation!
NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED
No acting or writing experience needed. Just bring your imagination and curiosity.

WHO IS THE AFTER SCHOOL DRAMA CLUB FOR?
The After School Drama Club is a creative theatre program for middle school students interested in theatre, storytelling, writing, and creativity.
DOES MY CHILD NEED ACTING OR WRITING EXPERIENCE?
Not at all! No previous acting, writing, or theatre experience is required. Students will learn through theatre games, improvisation, creative writing, and collaborative activities.
WHAT WILL STUDENTS DO DURING THE PROGRAM?
Students will work together to create an original play from scratch. They'll develop characters, brainstorm story ideas, create plot twists, write dialogue, and bring their story to life through a fun, collaborative process.
WHEN AND WHERE DOES THE PROGRAM MEET?
Classes meet on Wednesdays from 1:00 PM–2:15 PM at Finn Hill Middle School. The program runs from September 30 through November 18, with no class on November 11.
HOW MUCH DOES THE PROGRAM COST? ARE SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE?
The program fee is $190 for the full 7-week program. Limited scholarships are available. We never want financial limitations to be a barrier. Please email contact@beyondthestageyouth.com for more information.
WILL THERE BE A FINAL PERFORMANCE?
Yes! The program will culminate in a final sharing on the last day, where students will have the opportunity to share their original play with family and friends.
